Counting on the beat, Orchestra.

 In Hurumanu 2 my class and I have been learning about orchestra.

Usually there is about 100 people in a symphony orchestra a Chamber Orchestra usually has about 30 to 40 people in it, and they are all lead by one person, the principal conductor he or she is the person that stands facing towards the group and makes different movements with their hands and they usually have a stick in their hand that is called a Baton.

An Orchestra has heaps of different  types of instruments including

• Clarinet
• Bassoons
• Violins
• Trumpets
• Trombones
• Drums.
• Cello
• Basses
• Flutes
• Oboe.

 The Orchestra was created by a man called Claudio Monteverdi on may 15 1567 then he sadly passed away in November 1643.

Counting on the beat, Ukulele

In Hurumanu 2 we have been learning about the Ukulele.

The Ukulele was created in Hawaii by Spanish people that couldn't

find enough wood to make a real guitar so they made a smaller version and that was when the Ukulele was created.

There are also different sizes of Ukulele and there are electric Ukuleles as well.

Most Ukuleles only have four strings on it, and the string are made of nylon so they are softer for your fingers and they wont hurt as much.

There are all sorts of varieties of Violin like,

• Tenor,
• Baritone,
• Concert,
•  and Soprano. 

You can make Ukuleles out of anything like a surf board or maybe even a random table I think, the Ukulele is reffered  to jumping flea 

in Hawaiian 

Counting on the beat

 In Hurumanu 2 we have been learning about recorders, recorders are similar  to flute. 

  We tried to play the recorder but we were not very good at it.

The Recorder is a instrument where you blow into it and by using the holes on the recorder you can make different tunes.

In the old days people used to make recorders out of wood,

you can get a bunch of different types of Recorders like,

• Soprano,
• Alto,
• Bass,
• and Tenor.

Most Recorders look the same but their just in different sizes.

You can even take the Recorder apart and make different sounds with those pieces for fun, did you know that the Recorder dates way back to the middle ages that's way before the Clarinet, Harmonica and Tuba  .

Recorders were carved out of Ivory wood, 

Counting on the beat, Violin

 In Hurumanu 2 we have been researching about the violin.

The violin is like the guitar, but except the guitar usually has six strings, and you hold the violin up in your neck and instead of play it with your fingers you play it with a bow that is mad of horse hair.

But there are certain sizes of violin for certain ages.

You an even get electric violins.

Their are heaps of different varieties of violin like,

• Baroque,
• Stroh violin,
• Electric Violin,
• five string Violin,
• Fiddle.

Violin also have to sound holes that are pretty thin,

Violin don't have frets like guitars and have different bodies and different bridges than guitars.

 

Guitars

 

In Hurumanu two we have been learning about the guitar,

there are three types of guitar the acoustic, electric, and bass

the guitar is also the most common instrument nearly every band has at least one guitar in it.

Most guitars have a sound hole in it to make the sound louder but the electric guitar does not have a sound hole because of that it is very quiet that is why you must plug it into an amp.

most guitars have six strings in it but some guitars have 12 while others only have 4 strings. Also a lot of musical artists play the guitar like Stan Walker, Billy ray Cyrus  and Jimi Hendrix.

My hero

 In Hurumanu we have been learning about our heroes and we had to choose one person who was our favourite hero and this is what we came up with.

My goals for next time is to practice on my punctuation,

my other goal for writing is to use interesting words next time,and for my last goal is to use better  ideas.

Movement

 In drama we have been learning about movement, we have been walking in circles.

We also had to perform a dance to some music on the stage we had a lot of fun doing that.

Then we played 7 up where you stand in a circle and count up to seven once you get to seven you have to put your hand above your head say seven if you point your hand left then the person on your left will have to start at one but, if you get a number wrong then you must sit down.

We also played a game where you must stand in a pose and make it look realistic. 

We also practised our breathing while we listened to some calm relaxing music.
